The Landings and Lake Estates Homes
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308
The Landings, Golf and Lake Estates
Situated between 62nd St to the North, the Intracoastal Waterway to the East, Commercial Blvd to the South, and US-1 (Federal Highway) to the West, these two waterfront neighborhoods are located between the Bay Colony and the Coral Ridge Country Club neighborhoods.
The Landings and Lake Estates make up the Northern end of the Bayview Drive corridor and most people don’t distinguish between them, just considering the whole area to be The Landings. Lake Estates essentially makes up the Northwest quadrant of the neighborhood, and The Landings make up the rest. All the homes in this area are waterfront homes, however the homes on the West side of Bayview Drive have ocean access with fixed bridges, whereas those on the East side of Bayview Drive have ocean access with no fixed bridges. Traffic on Bayview Drive is slowed on Bayview Drive in this area due to numerous stop signs and speed bumps, giving the area a pleasing, quiet, neighborhood feel.
Traditionally, buyers have seen their money go a little farther here than other waterfront neighborhoods East of US-1 in Fort Lauderdale. Reasons for that include the Northern location and the mix of fixed and no fixed bridge access homes. In addition, boaters leaving this location will find themselves just about half way between the Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano and the Port Everglades Inlet in Fort Lauderdale, meaning that it will take slightly longer to get to the ocean. To some this is a major drawback, where to others the extra boating time is an easy trade off for the area’s many benefits.
Many people find this area to be ideal for proximity to private schools with, Pine Crest, Westminster, Christ Church, Saint Coleman’s, and Cardinal Gibbons all located only a few minutes away and for easy access to local shopping, parks and recreational facilities.
The Landings and Lakes estate represent Fort Lauderdale East side living at its best and owners and renters alike are proud to consider it their home.
