Coral Heights

Located between Commercial Blvd to the North, US-1 (Federal Highway) to the East, Oakland Park Blvd to the South, and Dixie Highway to the West, this neighborhood is thought of as being part of Fort Lauderdale, but in fact it is actually part of the city of Oakland Park.

Coral Heights is known as one of the desired, west of US-1 neighborhoods that offer a very South Florida suburban feel.  The makeup of the residents varies from employees of Holy Cross Hospital, which is located within its borders, to young families, singles, couples without kids, retirees and second home owners alike.  The neighborhood has two large lakes that offer serene views, as well as some canals and waterways, however ocean access is limited due to a few very low lying bridges.

The average home would be ranch style with 2-3 bedrooms, and between 1300 to 2000 square feet, with a 1-2 car garage or carport, and possibly a pool.  While this reflects the average, many homes have been added on to and or completely remodeled, with newer roofs, impact windows, and upscale landscaping.  Others are still in their original state waiting to be renovated.  Besides affordability, many people are attracted to the location and the proximity to US-1, restaurants, shopping, schools, the hospital, I-95, the beach, parks and more.

Affordability, location, and unique suburban feel make Coral Heights the perfect destination for many while others are willing to look at surrounding neighborhoods to the North and South in search of the best value for their money.  Regardless those who do choose Coral Heights to be their home find it a very pleasant place to be.
